Solids
Science: KS3, topic 3.5.11
Solids
Solids are one of the main three states of matter. Solids are useful for making things because of their properties.

Particle arrangement
- The particles in a solid are very close together.
- The particles are touching.
- The particles have a fixed shape.
- The particles cannot be compressed.

Movement
- The particles vibrate about a fixed point.
- The particles do not move around.
- Out of the three states of matter, solids have the least energy.

Density
- Solids are very dense because their particles are very close to each other.
- The particles in a solid are held together by strong bonds.
