Plant Gas Exchange
Science: KS3, topic 1.1.24
Gas Exchange in Plants
Plants need to take in carbon dioxide so that they can photosynthesise. They also produce excess (too much) oxygen in the same process that must be released.

Stomata
- Gas exchange is mainly done through the lower surface of the leaf via small openings called stomata.
- Each stomata can be closed or opened depending on the two guard cells which flank it.
