Evaporation
Science: KS3, topic 3.2.30
Evaporation
Evaporation is when a liquid changes into a gas.

Evaporating
- Evaporation is the process in which a liquid turns into a gas or vapour.
- Evaporation requires an increase in energy.

Condensation
- If a gas is cooled down, the gas or vapour turns back into liquid.
- The change back into a liquid is called condensation.

Real-life evaporation examples
- During exercise, our body temperature rises.
- The rise makes us sweat.
- Evaporating sweat takes away body heat.
- Losing this heat cools us down.

Hand sanitiser evaporation
- During the COVID-19 pandemic, lots of people used hand sanitiser.
- Hand sanitiser evaporates fast off your hands.
- So your hands feel cooler.
