Noah & The Flood

Noah and the flood is a famous story in the Bible.

Noah

Over time, the world had moved further away from God and the way he expects people to live. This happened 10 generations after Adam's death.
- This is implied in Genesis 6:6:
- “And God regretted/reconsidered having made man….I will wipe out humanity whom I created from the face of the ground.”
However, one man and his family remained righteous and loyal to God.
- They were worthy of being saved and they would start the world again afresh.
- This man was Noah.

The Ark

God tells Noah that a flood was coming to wipe out everything. And that Noah should build an Ark to house his family and some animals.
- God said that if people had the people repented, then they would have been saved.

The Flood

But, the rain fell for 40 days and nights, and water covered the land for over a year.
- Noah was saved because he was described as “righteous”.
- God had given humans 120 years to change their behaviour and not one person did so.
