- Some countries have regulations which are perceived as stricter. Because of this, immigrants will do everything they can to enter the country through illegal and dangerous routes.

- For example, they will jump border fences or cross seas or tuck themselves away in trucks, and as a consequence they will risk their own lives to achieve their goal of reaching the destination country.

- En España, los requisitos de entrada al país están regulados por la Ley de Extranjería que se aprobó el año 2000 pero que ha sido modificada en varias ocasiones.
- In Spain, the entry requirements are regulated by the Immigration Law that was approved in 2000, but has been modified on several occasions.

- Esta ley establece que los inmigrantes necesitan una Tarjeta de Identidad del Extranjero, equivalente al DNI o Documento Nacional de Identidad que tienen todos los españoles mayores de 18 años.
- This law establishes that immigrants need a Foreign Identity Card, which is equivalent to the DNI or National Identity Document that all Spanish over 18 have.
