Verbos + infinitivo - Verbs + infinitive
When you decline a verb in Spanish, it is normal for the next verb in the sequence to take the infinitive
Verbs + Infinitive
- There are many verbs in Spanish that can be used in combination with other verbs.
- The second verb usually takes the infinitve.
- Some examples are:
- necesitar + infinitivo - need to
- deber + infinitivo - must
- querer + infinitivo - want to
Exceptions
- However, there are some exceptions:
- ir + gerundio - to be doing something
- Voy buscando caramelos en las cestas de Pascua.
- I am looking for sweets in the Easter baskets.
Examples
- Necesito hablar con usted porque he perdido mis llaves.
- I need to speak with you because I have lost my keys.
- Debemos correr para llegar a tiempo.
- We must run to get there on time.
