It is widely agreed that extremism is anti-democratic, and often violent. For this reason most societies fight against it.

  • This makes it essential that people, including school pupils, are taught such subjects as religion, history and politics.
  • This would ensure they have a proper understanding of the world around them, not a distorted one.

  • It has been said that the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.
    • In which case, the opposite may also be true.
  • In this topic it has been argued that extremism feeds off injustice, ignorance and fear.
