    • Meanwhile, God promised Abraham the Land of Israel and to be the head of a large nation.
  • But, Abraham didn’t have it easy.
    • There were challenges along the way and tests that God put him through.

  • Abraham's descendants would have to suffer exile and slavery for 400 years.
    • After this, they would be freed to experience the promises that God had given to Abraham.
  • Abraham had two children.
    • The first called Yishmael/Ismail was born to Hagar/Hajar and becomes the ancestor of Muslims.
    • The second son, Isaac/Yitzchak was born to Sarah and becomes the ancestor of the Jewish people.

    • The Torah is significant to Christians and Jews. It continues the story from the perspective of Abraham and Isaac and focuses on Jewish people.
