  • As part of the last supper, Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples.
    • Jesus said that the bread and wine were his body and blood.
    • His body that would be killed the next day, and his blood that would be shed.

  • Christians believe that Jesus wanted them to recreate the Last Supper as a way of remembering Jesus.
    • The bread and wine reminds Christians of the sacrifice Jesus made, and how he willingly went to his death.
  • For many Christians, this re-enactment of the Last Supper is the main form of worship. It is sometimes called the Eucharist or the Mass.

  • Christians believe that Jesus’ death was a sacrifice.
  • He allowed himself to be killed as a way of saving people from the consequences of their sin.
