  • The Three Wise Men were Gentiles, which means they were not Jewish:
    • This suggests that Jesus was sent as a saviour for all people, not just for Jews.
    • Their gifts – gold, frankincense and myrrh – are thought to symbolise that Jesus was a king (the gold), that he was God’s son (the frankincense) and that he would suffer and die (the myrrh).
