Holy books
- The Vedas are the oldest holy books of Hindu Dharma.
- They were first spoken and remembered long before they were written down.
- The word “Veda” means “knowledge” in Sanskrit.
- There are four main Vedas: the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda.
- Hindus believe the Vedas were heard by holy people, called rishis, from the divine truth.
