- Media production is the term used for the creation stage of the product.
- Distribution is the stage after the product is completed, where the product is released to its audience through the methods selected by the institution.

Circulation
- Circulation is the average number of the product that is distributed to an audience.
- This can be measured daily, weekly, yearly etc.
- As some products are free to the audience, it does not always refer to sales.
