In Spanish, you can choose whether or not to include the subject.
Subjects
- The pronouns for the subject in Spanish are the following:
- yo - I
- tú - you
- él/ella - he/she/it
- nosotros/as - we
- vosotros/as - you
- ellos/as - they
Subject following verbs
- You can choose whether or not to include the subject before the verb.
- However, on the whole, you only use the subject for emphasis.
- e.g. nosotros iremos we will go
Examples
- ¿Qué haces tú aquí?
- What are you doing here?
- Ven conmigo si quieres un vaso de agua fría del frigo.
- Come with me if you want a glass of cold water from the fridge.
