El poder femenino en "El laberinto del fauno"
- En “el laberinto del fauno” sale victorioso el poder femenino, tal como la maternidad y el amor de Ofelia por su hermanito, sobre el poder típicamente masculino, representados por el fascismo y el capitán Vidal.
- In “the labyrinth of the faun” female power, such as Ophelia's motherhood and love for her little brother, overcomes the typically masculine power, represented by fascism and Captain Vidal.

- Símbolos femeninos como la luna (que representa los ciclos menstruales) y el útero (incluso en la forma del árbol mágico) representan el origen de la vida, la feminidad y la maternidad.
- Feminine symbols like the moon (representing menstrual cycles) and the uterus (even in the form of the magic tree) represent the origin of life, femininity and motherhood.

- También hay el amor materno de Carmen, que quiere sacrificar su felicidad por sus hijos, aunque parece más interesada en su bienestar socioeconómico que en su felicidad.

- En contraposición tenemos el poder masculino representado por el fascismo y el autoritarismo de Vidal. Al final de la película una mujer que había sido despreciada toma venganza y mata a Vidal.
- In contrast we have the masculine power represented by the fascism and authoritarianism of Vidal. At the end of the film a woman who had been despised takes revenge and kills the fascist Vidal.

- La película es una película feminista ya que encontramos personajes femeninos muy fuertes, como Ofelia y Mercedes, que luchan a su manera contra el machismo autoritario que se vive en la sociedad.
- The film is a feminist film since we find very strong feminine characters, like Ofelia and Mercedes, which fight in their own way against the authoritarian machismo of society.
¿“El laberinto del fauno” es una película feminista?
- Ofelia se rebela contra Vidal tratando de escapar y Mercedes se rebela de forma más activa: aunque juegue el papel de sirvienta sumisa, con la ayuda de los rebeldes republicanos mata al capitán.
- Ofelia rebels against Vidal trying to escape and Mercedes rebels more actively: although she plays the role of a submissive maid, with the help of the Republican rebels she kills the captain.
¿“El laberinto del fauno” es una película feminista?
- Al final de la película tanto Ofelia como Mercedes aparecen victoriosas. Por lo tanto “El laberinto del fauno” podría ser considerada una película en contra del machismo.
- At the end of the film, both Ofelia and Mercedes appear victorious. Thus, "Pan's labyrinth" could be considered a film against machismo.
