  • He looked at what roles, what jobs, and what activities men and women undertook.

  • He found that:
    • Women were more likely to be caregivers, work from home, partake in activities like cloth repair, preparing/cooking food and other domestic duties like cleaning.
    • Men were more likely to have work that took them further from home and partake in activities like hunting and weapon making.

Segal (1983)

  • Segal (1983) stated that the differences in gender role activities (example: hunting for men, cleaning for women) could stem from the differences in how involved men and women are in childcare.
