Politics of the People
Political movements began to develop which were very radical.

The Levellers
- Political movements began to develop which focussed on the rights of the people.
- The Levellers were a political group who wanted every ordinary man to vote (at the time, only wealthy people could vote). This group was crushed by Cromwell.

The Diggers
- The Diggers were a group who wanted to share land rights. They created a ‘commune’ (communal land where everyone was considered an equal). This group was crushed by a mob.
