Equilibrium Position - Concentration
Chemistry: AQA GCSE Higher, topic 6.2.6
Concentration and the Position of Equilibrium
Changing the concentration of any reactant or product takes the system out of equilibrium. The system will react to try to restore the equilibrium.

Increase the concentration of a reactant
- This will shift the position of equilibrium towards the products.

Increase the concentration of a product
- This will shift the position of the equilibrium towards the reactants.
Test yourself on Equilibrium Position - Concentration
What happens to the position of equilibrium when the concentration of a product is increased in a reversible reaction at equilibrium?
Why does increasing the concentration of a reactant shift the position of equilibrium towards the products in a reversible reaction at equilibrium?
