Conductors & Magnetic
Science: Year 5 & 6 National Curriculum, topic 3.1.3
Conductors & Magnetic
We use materials for different reasons.

Conductors
- Some materials are electrical conductors.
- Electrical conductors can transport electricity through them
- Examples: metals and graphite.
- Some materials are thermal conductors.
- Thermal conductors can transport heat through them(e.g. metals and graphite).

Magnetic
- Some materials are magnetic.
- Magnetic materials are able to hold a magnetic charge.
- There are four magnetic materials:
- The metal steel.
- The metal iron.
- The metal cobalt.
- The metal nickel.
