Presenting Data
Science: Year 5 & 6 National Curriculum, topic 11.5.2
Presenting Data
The way we present data from investigations should help the reader to quickly understand the results.

Tables
- Tables are useful for showing different measurements or numbers.
- Example: If we measure how far different toy cars travel after rolling down a slope, a table will show the results of the distances.
- A table can be turned into a graph.

Bar graph
- A bar or column graph can show one set of numbers. For example, it can show the distances that different cars travelled.

Scattergrams
- A scattergram can show the relationship between two sets of numbers.
- Example: The weight of a toy car and the distance it travels after rolling down a slope.

Line graphs
- A line graph can show the change in a measurement over time.
- Example: the height of a plant over several days.

Pie chart
- A pie chart can show proportions of a whole.
- Example: the proportions of nutritional elements in a dish.
