Birth and Young Amphibians
The stages of a life cycle for amphibians are: birth, young and adult.

Birth
- The amphibian hatches from eggs or can be born alive from the mother.

Young
- Young amphibians spend their early life underwater.
- They get oxygen by breathing through gills.
- In frogs, tadpoles develop from frogspawn with little else other than a tail.
- Tadpoles then develop rear legs before their front legs.
- Tadpoles will also start to develop and breathe through lungs.
- The process of tadpoles changing into frogs is called metamorphosis.
