Sustainable Development
Sustainable development is development providing for the needs of an increasing human population without harming the environment. Sustainable development can be complicated. In order for effective practices to be adopted, it requires:

Management of conflicting demands
- For example one village may want to conserve a forest, but another wants to exploit its resources.

Planning and cooperation
- Planning and cooperation must be present at local, national and international levels.
