Quadrilaterals
- A quadrilateral is any shape that has 4 sides.
- We give names to quadrilaterals that have special properties.

Rectangle
- A rectangle has four right angles.
- Its diagonals are the same length.
- It has two lines of symmetry.

Square
- A square is a rectangle with sides all the same length.
- It has four lines of symmetry.

Parallelogram
- A parallelogram has two pairs of parallel sides which are the same length.
- It has two pairs of equal angles which are opposite each other.
- It has no lines of symmetry.

Rhombus
- A rhombus is a parallelogram with all sides the same length.
- It has two lines of symmetry.

Kite
- The top two sides are the same length.
- The bottom two sides are the same length.
- There is only one line of symmetry.
- Its diagonals cross at right angles.
- The angles on each side are equal.

General trapezium
- A general trapezium has one pair of parallel sides.
- It has no lines of symmetry.

Isosceles trapezium
- A trapezium has one pair of parallel sides.
- An isosceles trapezium has sloping sides the same length and has one line of reflectional symmetry.
