Counting in Multiples

Counting in multiples of a number is when you keep adding multiples of that number.

Counting in multiples of 6

Counting in multiples of 6

  • To count from 0 in multiples of 6, we add 6 to 0.
  • Then we keep adding 6 until we have as many numbers as we want:
    • 0, 6, 12, 18, 24
  • We can keep adding 6 this way to get even more multiples of 6:
    • 30, 36, 42, 48

  • To count from 0 in multiples of 7, we add 7 to 0.
  • Then we keep adding 7 until we have as many numbers as we want:
    • 0, 7, 14, 21, 28
  • We can keep adding 8 this way to get even more multiples of 8:
    • 35, 42, 49, 56

  • To count from 0 in multiples of 9, we add 9 to 0.
  • Then we keep adding 9 until we have as many numbers as we want:
    • 0, 9, 18, 27, 36
  • We can keep adding 50 this way to get even more multiples of 50:
    • 45, 54, 63, 72

  • To count from 0 in multiples of 25, we add 25 to 0.
  • Then we keep adding 25 until we have as many numbers as we want:
    • 0, 25, 50, 75, 100
  • We can keep adding 25 this way to get even more multiples of 25:
    • 125, 150, 175, 200,
Counting in multiples of 1,000

Counting in multiples of 1,000

  • To count from 0 in multiples of 1,000, we add 1,000 to 0.
  • Then we keep adding 1,000 until we have as many numbers as we want:
    • 0, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000
  • We can keep adding 100 this way to get even more multiples of 50:
    • 5,000, 6,000, 7,000, 8,000
