Time of the Day
There are 24 hours in a day. Each day is split up into 12 hours in the morning and 12 hours in the afternoon and evening.


Midday and midnight
Midday and midnight
- When we write time, we use a way of showing whether it is before or after 12 o’clock midday.
- Midday is in the middle of the day.
- It is also called noon.
- Midday is written as 12:00 pm or 12 pm.

- The middle of the night is 12 o’clock midnight.
- Midnight is 12:00 am or 12 am.


Morning
Morning
- Morning is am.
- 8:00 am means eight o’clock in the morning.
- We can also write this 8 am.


Afternoon and evening

- 3:00 pm means three o’clock in the afternoon.
- We can also write this 3 pm.
