  • Add the coins and notes together to work out the total.
    • Pence: 20p + 20p + 50p = 90p
    • Pounds: £1 + £5 = 6
  • The total is £6 and 90p.

  • There are many ways to do this, for example:
    • £5 + £2 + £1 = £8
    • £2 + £2 + £2 + £2 = £8
    • £5 + £1 + £1 + 50p + 50p = £8
