Rounding Numbers
We can round numbers to estimate how big they are. This is very similar to using near numbers.

Rounding to the nearest 10
- When we round to the nearest 10, we need to look at the ones:
- If the number is 5 or more, you round it up to 10.
- E.g. 4,158 rounds up to 4,160.
- If the number is less than 5, you round it down to 0.

Rounding to the nearest 100
- When we round to the nearest 100, we need to look at the tens:
- If the number is 5 or more, you round it up to 100.
- E.g. 6,452 rounds up to 6,500 to the nearest 100.
- If the number is less than 5, you round it down to 0.

Rounding to the nearest 1,000
- When we round to the nearest 1,000, we need to look at the hundreds:
- If the number is 5 or more, you round it up to 1,000.
- If the number is less than 5, you round it down to 0.
- E.g. 3,213 rounds down to 3,000 to the nearest 3,000.
