Evangelical Churches
Although there is a decline in some Christian churches, the Evangelical Church has experienced growth in numbers!
Growth in Evangelical Churches
- But, there are some Christian Churches that are growing in number. Often these are the Evangelical Churches.
- The word ‘evangelical’ comes from the Greek word for the Gospel.
- Some people say Evangelical Churches are closer to the spirit and message of Jesus.
- This is because they can seem more welcoming to all people.
Evangelical Churches
- Evangelical churches are often more involved in helping marginalised people.
- The style of worship of Evangelical Churches is more informal. So it is more in keeping with modern culture.
- This suggests that Christianity needs to adapt to survive.
- If attitudes and teachings are out of touch with modern thinking, and if worship is dull, then people will turn away from Christianity.
