Faith Across the World
Religious Studies: KS3, topic 1.3.30
Importance of the Worldwide Church
Christians believe that Jesus told them to share the Christian message all over the world (Acts 1:8).
Across the world
Christianity is now a worldwide religion with followers on every continent.
This global presence gives Christians great influence, which they use to help others, as Jesus intended.
While spreading the faith (evangelisation) is important, Christians also believe in showing Christ through good deeds.
Reconciliation
Christian work across the world includes promoting reconciliation between people in conflict.
Christians believe Jesus wanted to bring peace.
Christians facing persecution
- In some parts of the world, Christians have faced persecution because of their faith, much like the apostles.
Caring for those in need
Christians' global mission involves caring for those in need, such as the hungry and poor.
This reflects how Jesus cared for the most vulnerable.
