The Nature of God
Religious Studies: KS3, topic 1.2.1
The Nature of God
Jews believe in One God, so Judaism is a monotheistic religion. The nature of God can be characterised by 3 main beliefs:

God as one
- God is understood in terms of the following characteristics:
- Omnipotent - all-powerful.
- Omniscient - all-knowing.
- Omnipresent - everywhere at the same time.
- Jews must be loyal to God, and God is the only being who should be worshipped.

God as creator
- God is the creator and King.
- God is the creator of everything and what exists is in existence because God wanted it to be.
- God gave humans free will to act as they wish.

God as a law giver and judge
- God determines both how Jews should live their lives and the values that are important.
