Evolution of horses

Millions of years ago, horses had five toes.
Those early horses walked mainly on their middle toe.
With time, the side toes became less useful and were lost over millions of years.
Now horses only have one toe, called a hoof.

Giraffes

Scientists are still unsure exactly why giraffes have long necks.
One theory is that the long necks of giraffes have evolved as they helped giraffes to reach the leaves on tall trees.
