Youthful Populations- Kenya
Kenya is a country with a youthful population. In a population pyramid, Kenya has a very wide base and a narrow top.

Youthful population
- The pyramid of Kenya has a very wide base and a narrow top.
- This pyramid shape shows that there is a high proportion of young people and not as many old people. This is due to:
- A lack of contraception.
- A tradition of big families.
- Poor access to health care and a low life expectancy.

Youthful population problems
- Youthful populations see lots of young people fighting over the available jobs as there is not enough for everyone.
- There is a strain on healthcare services due to the number of youths and many of them can’t access the health care.
- Education services are stretched because the government cannot afford to provide enough schools or teachers for all the young people.
