Subatomic Particles
Physics: Cambridge International GCSE Supplement, topic 5.1.3
Sub-Atomic Particles
The nucleus is made up of nucleons called protons and neutrons.

Protons
- Protons have a charge of +1.6 x 10-19C.
- To make things easier, we say the relative charge of a proton is +1.

Electrons
- Electrons have a charge of -1.6 x 10-19C.
- We say that the relative charge of an electron is -1.

Neutrons
- Neutrons carry no charge (so their relative charge is 0).
