Dispersion of Light
Physics: Cambridge International GCSE Supplement, topic 3.4.1
The Dispersion of Light
White light contains different colours that each have different frequencies. The eye detects these different frequencies and sends them to the brain to interpret.

Monochromatic light
- Light that has a single frequency is described as monochromatic.
- A laser light is an example of a monochromatic light.

Dispersion
- Dispersion is this separation of white light into a spectrum (range) of colours.
- A rainbow is an example of a spectrum that is formed when sunlight is dispersed by raindrops.
