Converting Between Simple Fractions and Decimals

$\large\frac{1}{2}$ $\frac{1}{2}$ is the same as 0.5.
- $\large\frac{1}{2}$ is the same as 0.5 because 1 whole is the same as 100 'hundredths'.
$\large\frac{1}{2}$ of 100 'hundredths' is 50 'hundredths' which is the same as 0.5.

$\large\frac{1}{4}$ $\frac{1}{4}$ is the same as 0.25.
- $\large\frac{1}{4}$ is the same as 0.25 because 1 whole is the same as 100 'hundredths'.
$\large\frac{1}{4}$ of 100 'hundredths' is 25 'hundredths' which is the same as 0.25.

$\large\frac{3}{4}$ $\frac{3}{4}$ is the same as 0.75.
- $\large\frac{3}{4}$ is the same as 0.75 because 1 whole is the same as 100 'hundredths'.
$\large\frac{3}{4}$ of 100 'hundredths' is 75 'hundredths' which is the same as 0.75.
