Recognising Three-Digit Numbers
We can find the value of each digit in a three-digit number by looking at its place value.

Place value
- Each digit in a number has a place value.
- The place value of the digit will change how much it is worth.
- Three digit numbers can be split into three columns:
- Hundreds.
- Tens.
- Ones.

Example
- In 893, there are:
- 8 'hundreds'.
- 9 'tens'.
- 3 'ones'.
