Regular IR Verbs in the Conditional Tense

To form the conditional tense with regular IR verbs, take the infinitive and add the imperfect endings. Here is the example with 'sortir' (to go out):

Tu sortir=ais= - you would go out

Tu sortirais - you would go out

  • 'Tu' means 'you' (singular).
Vous sortir=iez= - you would go out

Vous sortiriez - you would go out

  • 'Vous' means:
    • You (plural).
    • You (singular, formal).
