Irregular ER Verbs - Aller

'Aller' is completely irregular in the present tense, it does not follow a set pattern. It is the only completely irregular ER verb.
Tu vas - you go
- 'Tu' means 'you' (singular).
Vous allez - you go
- 'Vous' means:
- You (plural).
- You (singular, formal).
Verbs that End in 'cer' and 'ger'
In the present tense, ER verbs that end in 'cer' and 'ger' need a spelling change in the 'nous' form.
Verbs that end in 'cer'
- For 'ER' verbs that end in 'cer' the 'c' changes in the 'nous' form of the present tense.
- It changes from 'c' to 'ç'.
- Lancer (to throw) → nous lançons
- Commencer (to begin) → nous commençons
- Annoncer (to announce) → nous annonçons.
Verbs that end in 'ger'
- ER verbs that end in 'ger' change in the 'nous' form of the present tense.
- The 'g' becomes 'ge'.
- Manger (to eat) → nous mangeons.
- Nager (to swim) → nous nageons.
- Voyager (to travel) → nous voyageons.
