'Prendre' - To Take

'Prendre', and verbs that have 'prendre' in them (derivatives), drop the 'd' in the 'nous', 'vous', 'ils/elles' form. They also add a second 'n' in the 'ils/elles' form.

Verbs That End in 'ttre'

'RE' verbs that end in 'ttre', drop a 't' for the 'je', 'tu', 'il' forms of the verb. These verbs are regular in the 'nous', 'vous', 'ils' forms. Here is the example with 'mettre' (to put):

Tu me=t=s - you put

Tu mets - you put

  • 'Tu' means 'you' (singular).
Vous mettez - you put
