Your best friend

Your best friend

  • If you are writing for your best friend, they will probably use the same language as you do.
  • So you might not have to think too much about the words you use!
Old people

  • Your grandfather might not understand all the words you use.
  • For example, if you write 'that’s wicked', your grandfather might think you mean 'evil'.
  • But you really meant 'cool'!
  • Use more formal words and fewer chatty or slang words.
  • This will help them understand your writing better.
A foreigner
