Nouns that End in a Vowel

If a noun ends in a vowel (a, ,e, i, o or u), to form the plural you add an 's' to the end. They can use the definite or indefinite article.

  • El dormitorio → Los dormitorios.
    • The bedroom → The bedrooms.
  • Un coche → Unos coches.
    • A car → Some cars.

Feminine nouns

  • La llave → Las llaves.
    • The key → The keys.
  • Una silla → Unas sillas.
    • A chair → Some chairs.

Nouns that End in a Consonant

To form the plural form of a noun that ends in a consonant, you add 'es' to the end of the noun. If the vowel before the consonant has an accent on it, the noun loses the accent in the plural.
