Lo + Adjective

'Lo' with Adjectives (e.g. interesting, best, worst)

When 'lo' is used with describing words, it means 'thing'. It is used with a describing word (an adjective) to create a new noun. The most important thing is to never change 'lo', it always stays singular when it is used this way.

Lo bueno - the good thing

Lo bueno se hace esperear.
- A good thing is worth waiting for.
Todo lo bueno viene en tríos.
- All good things come in threes.

Lo difícil - the difficult thing

Lo difícil del francés es la gramática.
- The hard thing about french is the grammar.
Sé lo difícil que es la situación.
- I know how dificult the situation is.

Lo interesante - the interesting thing

Lo interesante de La Copa del Mundo es que todos quieren ganar.
- The interesting thing about the World Cup is that everyone wants to win.
Esto es lo interesante.
- That is the interesting thing.

Lo peor - the worst thing

Lo peor de la tormenta ha pasado.
- The worst of the storm has passed.
Me temo lo peor.
- I fear the worst.

Lo mejor - the best thing

Lo mejor de todo es el resultado.
- The best thing of all is the result.
