Radically Changing ER Verb Stems

Verbs that have radically changing stems in the present tense also have radically changing stems in the present subjunctive. Note that these verbs do not change in the 'nosotros' and 'vosotros' forms.

Volver - to return

Vuelva - I return.
Vuelvas - you return.
Vuelva - he/she returns.
Volvamos - we return.
Volváis - you return.
Vuelvan - they return.

Querer - to want

Quiera - I want.
Quieras - you want.
Quiera - he/she wants.
Queramos - we want.
Queráis - you want.
Quieran - they want.

Irregular ER Sunjunctive

The verbs with first person irregular in the present containing ‘g’ or ‘zc’ take their stem from the 'yo' form in the present tense and add the subjunctive endings. Most present subjunctives change in every person of the verb.

Tener

Tenga - I have.
Tengas - you have.
Tenga - he/she has.
Tengamos - we have.
Tengáis - you have.
Tengan - they have.

Poner

Ponga - I put.
Pongas - you put.
Ponga - he/she put.
Pongamos - we put.
Pongáis - you put.
Pongan - they put.

Hacer

Haga - I do.
Hagas - you do.
Haga - he/she do.
Hagamos - we do.
Hagáis - you do.
Hagan - they do.

Nacer

Nazca - I am born.
Nazcas - you are born.
Nazca - he/she is born.
Nazcamos - we are born.
Nazcáis - you are born.
Nazcan - they are born.
