Concentrations & Amounts
Chemistry: Edexcel IGCSE, topic 5.1.25
Concentrations of Solutions
The concentration of a solution can be measured in terms of:

Moles
- Solution concentration (mol/dm3) = amount of substance (mol) / volume (dm3).

Mass
- Solution concentration (g/dm3) = mass of substance (g) / volume (dm3).
Test yourself on Concentrations & Amounts
What units can be used to express the concentration of a solution?
A solution has a concentration of 2 mol/dm3 and contains 6 mol of substance. What is the volume of the solution?
A solution with a volume of 4 dm3 has a concentration of 0.5 mol/dm3. How many moles of substance does the solution contain?
