Types of Glaciers

Glaciers can range in size from really small to massive. In general, glaciers are divided into two broad categories:

Alpine glaciers

Alpine glaciers

  • Alpine glaciers are found on the sides of mountains.

  • These glaciers navigate down slopes by following the system of valleys.
