Sometimes you will just join multiple sentences together using conjunctions to create a run-on sentence. You should NOT use run-on sentences because they are bad for your writing style.

  • Run-on sentences don’t apply boundaries to any of the ideas in writing.
  • The lack of boundaries in run-on sentences makes it difficult for the reader.
    • Run-on sentences are difficult for the reader because all the ideas have to be processed at once.

  • Think of each idea separately.
  • Apply boundaries to individual sections of your writing by using punctuation.
  • If in doubt, apply a full stop after each idea you present.
