Kamma
- The intentional actions of Kamma are what lead to the kind of rebirth a person has.
- 'Intention I tell you, is kamma. Intending, one does kamma by way of body, speech and intellect'(Nibbedhika Sutta, Anguttara Nikaya 6.63).
Ethics
Ethics
- Buddhist ethics are all based on the enlightened views of the Buddha or others like the Bodhisattvas.
- Sila is the concept of right conduct, non-violence and freedom from causing harm to others.
- All ethical instructions are either found in Buddhist scripture or passed down through tradition.
- Karuna is compassion and Metta is loving kindness, they must be felt for all.

- The Khuddakapatha, a collection of nine passages, was probably prepared for novices in the Sangha.
- 'Whatever living beings there may be; whether they are weak or strong, omitting none, the great or the mighty, medium, short or small, the seen and the unseen, those living near and far away, those born and to-be-born — May all beings be at ease!'(Karaniya Metta Sutta from the Khuddakapatha).
