Two shapes are congruent if they are the same shape and same size. They can be rotations or reflections of each other. There are four ways to prove two triangles are congruent:

SSS (side, side, side)

  • The three sides must be the same lengths.

  • Two sides and the angle between them must be the same.

  • Two angles and the side between them must be the same.

  • There must be a right angle in both triangles and the hypotenuse and one other side must be the same lengths.
