Angles in a quadrilateral (a 4 sided shape) add up to 360°.

### Rectangle

• A rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles.
• Its diagonals are the same length.
• It has rotational symmetry of order 2 and two lines of symmetry.

### Square

• A square is a rectangle with sides all the same length.
• It has rotational symmetry of order 4 and four lines of symmetry.
• Its diagonals are the same length and cross at right angles.

### Parallelogram

• A parallelogram has two pairs of parallel sides which are the same length and two pairs of equal angles which are opposite each other.
• It has rotational symmetry of order 2.

### Rhombus

• A rhombus is a parallelogram with all sides the same length.
• It has two lines of reflectional symmetry and its diagonals cross at right angles.

### Kite

• The top two sides are the same length. The bottom two sides are the same length.
• The angles on each side are equal. Its diagonals cross at right angles.
• There is only one line of symmetry.

### General trapezium

• A general trapezium has one pair of parallel sides and no symmetry.

### Isosceles trapezium

• A trapezium has one pair of parallel sides.
• An isosceles trapezium has sloping sides the same length and has one line of reflectional symmetry.
