Quadrilaterals
Angles in a quadrilateral (a 4 sided shape) add up to 360°.

Rectangle
Rectangle
- A rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles.
- Its diagonals are the same length.
- It has rotational symmetry of order 2 and two lines of symmetry.

Square
Square
- A square is a rectangle with sides all the same length.
- It has rotational symmetry of order 4 and four lines of symmetry.
- Its diagonals are the same length and cross at right angles.

Parallelogram
Parallelogram
- A parallelogram has two pairs of parallel sides which are the same length and two pairs of equal angles which are opposite each other.
- It has rotational symmetry of order 2.

Rhombus
Rhombus
- A rhombus is a parallelogram with all sides the same length.
- It has two lines of reflectional symmetry and its diagonals cross at right angles.

Kite
Kite
- The top two sides are the same length. The bottom two sides are the same length.
- The angles on each side are equal. Its diagonals cross at right angles.
- There is only one line of symmetry.

General trapezium
General trapezium
- A general trapezium has one pair of parallel sides and no symmetry.

Isosceles trapezium
Isosceles trapezium
