Crude oil fractions have many uses, like refinery gas, gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil, lubes, and bitumen.

Refinery gas and gasoline / petrol uses

The refinery gas fraction is used for heating and cooking.
The gasoline, or petrol, fraction is the main fuel used in cars.

Naphtha and kerosene / paraffin fractions

The naphtha fraction serves as a chemical feedstock for making plastics and other chemicals.
